014 : Sunway Taekwondo Night 2012

To take charge. To organize an event. I always attend events. Never ending events. & when I attend all these events, the first thing attract me are, decorations. Then as the event go on, I'm not like the rest where they talk among themselves, go to the toilet to take pictures. Instead, I sit down & admire the crew or rather the organizing committees. I respect them cause they were able to pull of a great event. So it sort of motivated me to try and organize and event and be the president of the organizing committee! Opportunity came & I grabbed it. Sunway Taekwondo Night 2012. I initiated the idea to continue the legacy left by our seniors whom organized the Sunway Taekwondo Night 2011 as an inaugural.

Talk about experience, I gained a lot. In terms of people & handling problems. I realised, you can never impressed or make everyone happy! Even your own committee team. There are always disagreement in ideas but this has taught me how to keep quiet and listen. Listen to what they have to say instead of just cutting them off halfway. Listen, then discuss properly. It is the minor problems that were causing most of the problems actually. Another thing is, be patient & don't panic.

So, I've organized an event last two week on the 8th of August 2012! It's Sunway Taekwondo Night 2012! Though there were ups and downs throughout the preparation, but everything paid off! The event was successful except for a few minor error & technical difficulties & a little bit non-supportive people. But, we made profit at least! It's a non-money sponsored event & all the income were based solely on tickets sales. Hence, I sincerely thank all the guest who supported us and made the event possible. In another words, made me believe in my dreams & tell me that if you want something, work for it & it will come out successfully! This definitely has motivated me even more to organize more events! Maybe events that can help people!

It started a bit late because some VIPs were late. Then as usual, there were speeches by some people. Then we started of with our emcees of the night, Chloe & Adrian to introduce themselves & welcome everyone! There were slideshows presentation to look back at events that the Sunway Taekwondo Club & Monash Taekwondo Club had done. It's sort of a throwback thing. After slideshows, everyone went to grab dinner! We had spagetti, fried rice, fish fillet & many more! Everyone enjoyed the food cause, honestly, it's goooood! Later, we proceed the event with performances such as dance, singing & even comedy! Sort of our Malaysian version of Russel Peter xD

Later, we continued with the lucky draws & award presentation. Congratulations to all the winners! We had, best dress award, best couple & the Man & Lady of the Night award! Everyone had fun & I'm glad everyone did! The post & feedback about how they enjoyed the night definitely made my day! Decorations for the night was good as well! We had fire & snowflakes to represent our theme, Fire & Ice! Lots of credits to the deco team! I'm so proud of my committee team & I thank them so much for walking this path with me & help fulfill my vision! Without them, there would be no Sunway Taekwondo Night 2012! Thank you all! They are, OJ, Khang Yi, Si Hao, Joseph, Yilyn, Ashley, Mino, Darren, Elaine, Daniel, Yunny, Hebi, Chloe & Adrian!

However, there were some downfall during the event such as, no mic stands, stage lights not off during slide show presentation. No one to handle the music. It was a mess but it's quite good for a first timer like me. Then, the PA came in late & I stuttered during my speech. Like seriously?! This is not good. I need to practice giving speech cause I foresee myself giving more speech in the future! So, I gotta work on the way I prepare next time if I'm going to organize any event. This event has definitely become a stepping stone for me to organize more & better events!

Trophies for the awards!

Thank you Monash Exchange Students from Australia for supporting the event! & congratulations on winning some awards!

013 : Club

Finally, I clubbed. I've always wanted to try but couldn't find the right time & the right people. So last night cause of the Sunway Taekwondo Night 2012 I organized, there was an after party. Initially I did not want to go. But then I changed my mind because I thought, I shouldn't be a party pooper and there were so many seniors around that asked me to go. I just entertain and said okay.

We went to Aquasonic. Nope I did not drink much and nope I did not go crazy. I danced a little bit with my friends & I observerd a lot. Since I've always wanted to experience how clubbing feels like, so I want to observe the surroundings. Sounds like some FBI eh?

What I realized is, girls are crazily exploited & taken advantage on. Guys go around girls and rub their body against girls & if girls that offered to do so to the guys, of course guys won't reject. But if the guy is a gentleman, I believe he will.

Crazy drunktards around. Rude people. Loud music. Smoke all around and now my hair STINKS! I would say, it's not the kind of entertainment I would opt for. I rather go over to a friend's place to drink & chat. I would rather go out and have a nice decent lunch with a friend & chat for hours. Those are the quality meets where you can talk and not shout at each other's ears. So guess I'm old-fashion afterall. Teehee!

012 : Travelog01 : KL-Singapore-JB

A friend of mine suggested that I turn my whole blog into a travel blog since I love to travel & he thinks people might find it interesting. Well, I'm a very lazy blogger so I'm not so keen about the idea but guess there's no harm trying. But at the same time, I'm not gonna turn my whole blog into a travel blog. It'll be a mixture of it. I'll still talk about general stuff when I want to. I'll pick the latest vacation I went, Universal Studio Singapore!

It all started with a random day when a group of us were bored of studying & suddenly thought of life after A-levels! So the 4 of us, Daniel, Eugene, Shuana & I thought about Matthew at Singapore! Of course, we wanted to pay him a visit then we came up with the whole plan about going to Singapore & Universal Studio Singapore (USS). After some time, Shuana thought about Johor Premium Outlet (JPO) & she expressed her interest to go there.

So our journey starts at KL! Not exactly actually. It actually starts at Rock Cafe where we had breakfast! Then, we put our luggage at Daniel's crib cause we will be having a sleepover there & head to KLIA together early in the morning!

We took the LRT to KLCC. At KLCC, we went to Charlie Brown Cafe actually just for the cute latte designs. & yes, I love the store's concept! You should visit that cafe! There are outlets at KLCC as far as I know & one outlet at Singapore. GO TRY! THEY HAVE SUPER CUTE DESIGNS!

Then, we continue our adventure by using the bridge that connects Pavillion & KL! Next station? Baskin Robbins! We ordered the Baskin Robbin fondue for RM 49.90 & guess what?! It's LARGE! Pretty cheap for an ice cream fondue in my opinion. & it's definitely worth the money! Go and try! :D
We wanted to go to the Aquaria but cause there was no time as we need to rush back home for Mama Yeap's awesome dinner! We had Italian for dinner & boy the lasagna was good! Thumbs up! Sorry, Mama Yeap doesn't have any outlet. Invitations only. Skip whatever happened at Daniel's.

Next morning, KLIA! We had McD breakfast! Then boarded the plane, which is Jetstar. They have quite comfy seats though. I slept like a pig & looking very ugly. We landed at Changi Airport & the first thing we did was took the MRT and went to Clarke Quay to look for our place to stay. We stayed at Citybacpackers hostel & to be honest, it's a good place. They have very good hospitality but you need to fight for breakfast which we did not do it. But I would definitely recommend this place if you ever want to go to Singapore.

We met up with Matthew's aunt, Joyce & had lunch with her. Then we headed to the famous Orchard Rd! If you are into shopping, you must stop by at Orchard Rd especially during sales season. I'm not kidding! After Orchard Rd, here comes the craziest moment. & I admit, I was cranky. We couldn't find National Museum of Singapore. & no one was there to help except for Matt. But in the end, we found it & it's free for students! It's definitely a good museum & a must visit museum! They have very good architecture design. I'm not an art kind of person but I like it! I have yet to visit the Peranakan museum & other museums in Singapore if I ever find the time & a group of friends who are interested.

Then we headed to Harbour Front to visit Gardens By the Bay. Again, a very good concept & a very serene place. They introduce different types of flowers & they are all of course, beautiful. I would recommend this place as well if you come in a group of with your loved ones! Then, it's dinner time! I forgot the place of the restaurant but the food they serve are average. Not to say it's super delicious but at the same time, it doesn't suck. After dinner, we surprised Daniel with a cake for his birthday was on the 7/7 . It's still JULY!

Next stop, Marina Bay Shoppe! We watched the waterworks show. It's free & quite creative. Not exactly my favourite activity of the day but it's good. Then we headed back to citybackpackers to rest. It was indeed a tiring & eventful day.

Okay, moving on. The 3rd day of our adventure - UNIVERSAL STUDIO SINGAPORE. Not going to exactly go into details but before we went to Universal Studio Singapore, we dropped by at Vivo City & Maritime Museum. Both are good places to visit! Universal Studio Singapore, all I can say is that, the Cylone & Mummy ride is GOOOD! So, go and try!

On the 4th day, we went to the Harry Potter exhibition which I think is quite a good experience & they brought in actual clothes tha were use during the sets! Exhibition ends on September 30th 2012. Then we headed back to JB using the 160 bus & went to Desaru (beach) . We had seafood for dinner at Pengerang and it's GOOOOOOOOD!

The next day, we went to JPO & since Shuana, Daniel & Eugene are leaving the next day, daddy brought all of us to the Bierhaus which is a German pub at Johor Jaya. We had pork knuckle, pizza, & some sausages! YUM! We tried Paulaner (imported beer) & had some other beers as well. Daniel, wanted to try bottoms up so thanks to him, I had my first bottoms up experience. I wouldn't say it's bad cause at last, I know how it feels like to bottoms up. But, I puked like crazy. Hahahha! But t'was a good experience.

& the very next morning, we had breakfast at some mamak stall at my housing area then sent them off to the airport. This is trip is definitely a trip that brought lots of memories & in future when we think back, I'm sure we will all felt like it was just yesterday we had the trip. I love you guys so so much!

011 : Super bestfriend or just Friendzone?

It has been long since I last visited this blog. Honestly, I never had the time to blog about what I feel everyday or what I do. So, as I said before, I'm just gonna blog about stuff that I see in general. This blog is not going to be any personal blog but, anything that I blog about, experience & examples are all real life experience.

From the title of the post, what do you think? ( I don't even know why I ask that question since I don't publish my blog for anyone to see) Anyways, I tried to avoid this topic but guess I just had to. I have come to a realisation that super bestfriend & friendzone are completely TWO different situation. Oh I'm quite experience when it comes to the friendzone topic. It's either I friendzone people or people would friendzone me. Honestly, I really don't mind being friendzone at all. When you are friendzoned, that's when that guy suddenly come up to you and say, "You're really a very good friend" or "You're really my good friend you know" or " I really treat you as my very good friend" Yapppy yappy yappp & yappp. Seriously guys? It's not necessary to deliberately come to me to EXPLAIN or MAKE IT CLEAR that you are friendzoning me. The fact that we hang out so much of time & yet you did not do anything, we know you have already friendzone us. So, you can save that energy alright?

Okay, so the thing about friendzone. Here's the trick. When you are being friendzoned, you both can be crazy best friends, hang out together and talk. But when one of you find that someone special, that very "good" friend of yours or how you are a good friend to that person will just go *poof* Nope, no more hang outs, no more talks. NOTHING. So, that's the friendzone trick.

Super bestfriend? I guess you can say that, if that guy and you are super crazy bestfriend, eventhough both have their own partner, you still have stuff to talk. I don't know, this is just my theory. Super bestfriend is when you can just say ANYTHING. Anything you want to say. & the most important thing is that, you never get tired of seeing him/her every day. & you both will always have something to talk about. It's like you are more than just friends but not in a relationship. But, you are comfortable talking to that person. & you don't mind showing all your ugly sides or flaws and yet, that person still accepts who you are. Besides, you both never & once again I say, NEVER, talk about relationship at all.

You can argue and say that, cause both have not found the right one yet. Correct, that's a very good argument. Like I said, it's MY theory & my definition of super bestfriend & I'm using only 1 example. Bestfriend between a guy & a girl. You can be such good friends that people around you & who don't exactly know you automatically thinks you both are couple. You have people coming over to tell you that you both look good together or you both look alike. First hand experience here. & cause you both are such good friends, you don't even bother explaining anything to people who speculated. It's like you just don't care at all. Best part is, you both never had any awkward situation when people come over and ask whether both of you are in a relationship. See what I mean? That's my definition.

To define even more clearly, you can say that, you both love each other & you both need each other & you both have each other's back but there was no spark at all to ignite a relationship. However, you both know that, when there's something to share, the first person in mind you want to share with is that bestfriend of yours. Or when you're unhappy & you needed someone to talk to, that's when you look for that bestfriend of yours. Or, you know your bestfriend is unhappy and that's when you know when to just listen & let him/her express whatever she wants to express. You both are there for each other. & the distance is not a matter at all. It's almost like a couple but you are not and at the same time, you are not ordinary friends. There's something inside there which both of you can't deny. & there is a possibility that both might like each other, but both of you just don't bother bringing it up cause you both are so comfortable with what you both are now. You don't need to bring her for a dinner, you don't need to plan dates, you don't need to hold her hand, you don't need to show it on facebook that you are in a relationship, you don't need long phone calls, you both are just not tied down in a relationship but you are comfortable doing things together, go on a vacation, do silly stuff, explore, etc. In short, you both are not attached to each other & there is no obligation involved. You can do anything. You can choose not to text him/her cause you can do anything you want cause the fact is, YOU ARE STILL SINGLE. But, deep down inside you, you know that, the bestfriend of yours is someone very important in your life. You love him & he loves you too. But it's a very different kind of love. You both are like soulmates but not exactly soulmates. It's something very hard to decipher but you have to be the one to experience it, then you'll get it. It's not a good thing but it's not exactly bad at all. In fact, you'll find the thrills in it & sometimes you'll feel like you are the luckiest person to be able to have somebody who is like your family & more than a friend to be there for you.

Things might change once that bestfriend of yours find someone as his/her partner. However, cause you are such good friends, you won't be treated as if you are friendzoned. :)

010 : Selfishness & Inferiority

When was the last time you actually look at the person beside you and ask, "How are you?" As humans, we tend to get caught up with our own problems that we overlooked that there are people out there who are facing difficulties far more worse than us. Maybe that is how society is today already. We are all so selfish about what is best for us. What about people out there who don't have a choice? Children going hungry in poor developed countries. Children losing life since young because of war. Is power, money and influence so important today? Why do we overlook the biggest error we've made everyday? But tend to care more about the small ones? So what if you get your power? Does it really make a huge change? Yeah, a change in your life but think about the amount of life out there you took away because only you, one person wanted what you want. Even if we don't look at the bigger picture, just look at daily life is enough. You don't have to be a dictator to just destroy someone's life. Attitude, can do the same.

Is it really a thing for people nowadays to make weaker people feeling inferior? Why do you do that? So that the weaker ones will look upon you and respect you? Is that the sort of respect you want? Or rather, is that the way you gain your respect from others? Sometimes, have you ever wonder that it is not that the weaker ones were respecting you but cause they rather not start a fight? Do you feel insecure, that's why you need to step on their head so that they won't do it first? But, bear in mind, there are people out there who never bothered to step on your head. There are really people out there who made friends sincerely, not because you're rich, smart or famous or anything good. In fact, my mum always taught me to make friends sincerely not for benefits. But, I guess today, it's so hard to change this mindset. Individuals talking to those who are rich, girls dating rich guys cause they were materialistic, guys cheating on girls who are rich for the same reason. But in the end, what do you get, really? Are you even happy with the relationship, regardless as friends or couple. The activities and events you do together, were you even genuinely happy with it? No, I can assure you, the answer is no. Why? Because everything is fake from the start! Look down upon the weaker ones and the next thing you know, your so called great "friends" backfire you. & the weak ones whom you looked down upon are the ones that held out a hand sincerely to help.

Why the heck I rant all those up there? Well, cause I'm the victim. From my experience, I  have encounter people made me feel very very inferior. They look down on me because I'm not applying to overseas universities but instead going to Monash University, Sunway Campus and will be getting a transfer to Australia. There are a lot of things I had to take into consideration if I want to go to overseas. & with the economy today, my dream is unallowed. But that doesn't mean I'm not good. & there was once I sincerely wished one of my friend good luck for exam, no reply but he replied someone else. You can say I'm a little bit oversensitive but this is not the first. Everything I say, they doubt cause I'm not smart enough or cause I'm not a straight A student. But does all this really matter? Isn't having a sum of everything is what's important? So what if you have impeccable grades but you don't have a social, fun life? That sucks. To me it is. But I need to thank people like this in my life that makes me a fighter. Stronger and determined to prove that I will do better in future and will be a successful person!

Watch me climb to the top. Even if you don't bother to, then fine, watch me from below when I'm at the top.

09 : Hope

March went by just like that! *snap* But I enjoyed the month. It was rather an interesting month for me. It was the month where I found hope. Hope is a very big word. Everyday, everybody prays and hopefully they will have hope for anything they want. Having hope can shape someone because with hope, you'll have the determination to go on with something. Some would rather be blinded by hope and not accept the reality. Because sometimes, you'll be happier when there's hope rather than watching reality tears you apart. Afterall, we only have 1 life and just want to be happy. Who knows, we might be able to change the hope to reality. So as I mentioned earlier, I found hope. But what hope? Good hope? Bad hope? Honestly, I don't even know.

Hope was everywhere during March. My friend, E told me about maxis scholarship. Telling me how maxis is giving scholarship for student to pursus their studies in Melbourne Uni. Now, that's one new hope that I might not have to do twinning in Monash. But I wouldn't mind studying in Monash. But at least I have another option to try and see if I can go to overseas straight.

2nd hope. I met A. D keeps telling me I might stand a chance. But I'm sort of letting go of this hope. I don't know. Maybe I can't take what happened in my past anymore. I'm still haunted by it. I'm very very afraid. But I'm glad I know you but maybe deep down in me, I hope you'll give me hope. Just maybe.

The slightest hope is still hope.

08 : You'll Never Know

Ever had a time where you felt like a total loser & you felt like you just don't belong anywhere? Well, I'm experiencing it now. I don't like the feeling of it. I used to think I was a happy child, well I am but to what extent? I sometimes feel very insecure of what's in front of me. I don't know whether I'm paranoid but I try to believe that I'm paranoid. I always have this mindset that people don't like me. It's time to change that mindset. Okay, it's true that you can't get everyone to like you & you can't force a person to like you either. Obviously, in life you'll encounter or meet people that do not "click" with you. So, it's okay. In my opinion, if the person doesn't hurt you, then you don't have to do anything.

Of course, there are also people that you have not much topic to talk about. All you do is, hi & bye. Then it's okay too! It doesn't mean that you have 1000 friends means you are friendly. Ask yourself this question, if you have these 1000 friends, how many of them are true? How many of them will be there for you? Stand up for you, help you, care for you, tell you that you are not okay even if you said you are? It could be just the 5% out of your 1000 friends or maybe only 1. In this society today, it is easy to say that I know that person or this person because of SOCIAL NETWORK. You can just meet one day person A through a mutual friend, then that person adds you on facebook or twitter or the other way round. So, all you ever do is write on each other's wall or mention the person. You never exactly have a proper conversation & then you go and say that person is my best friend. Seriously? I don't think so. That's one thing you'll never know.

It's hard to see a person's expression when you chat with them through media. So it's hard to know what kind of person he or she really is. This is something I learned and everyone should too. It impacted me so much which I shall not continue on what I'm about to say. Another thing you'll never know is what's happening in your body. So my experience today was at Sunway Medical Centre (SMC). I attempted to donate my blood to the blood bank at the SMC with my friends. All these while, I've always wanted to donate my blood to save lives! Imagine that bag of blood of yours could save someone's life. & that someone probably in future could contribute to the society and make this world a better place. You're the saviour! So, that's why I've always wanted to help. Contribute a little. You might be saving the next president of United States or the next Malaysia Prime Minister. :)

Okay, so back to my story, we went to the blood donation section at LG floor and met Dr. Gan who was in-charged with all these blood donation stuff. Before donating, he wanted to check if my haemoglobin concentration was enough to donate. He took a sample of my blood and dropped them into a blue solution and the blood drop was supposed to sink. Turns out... it float! Eventually it will sink but it was supposed to sink IMMEDIATELY! Mine did not. Honestly, I almost cried when the doctor told me I could not donate my blood this time. He adviced me to take more food with rich IRON. So people, remember! Take sufficient of food with iron so that you can too donate your blood and don't encounter such experience like mine. It was seriously heart breaking. I had tears under my eyes already. But I managed to control them from rolling down my cheeks. But it was sad.

It was something like this. The solution is copper sulphate.
If the drop of blood sinks to the bottom in an acceptable amount of time, the donor qualifies. If the drop of blood floats or takes too long to sink the donor is deferred.

These are vegetables rich in iron if you are a vegetarian. There are also a list of it :)
Spinach, Broccoli, Oats, Hazelnuts, Raisins, Dates, Apricot, Prunes, Asparagus, Parsley, Watercress, Brusselssprouts, Collard greens, Mustard greens, Lentils, Chick peas, Soybeans, Red kidney beans, Artichokes, Blackstrap molasses, Millet Sprouts, Kale Cabbage, Sunflower seeds, Almond, Tofu, Soy yogurt, Alfalfa, Figs,

These are also examples of food which are rich in Iron :)

P.S. : Photos are randomly found on google. Credits photographers for the shot. :)
